Avid Reading

For language learning, AI opens a new pathway. Instead of reading the news in a foreign language and being bogged down in political details or stuck listening to ads. You can use AI in some way to generate something that you can learn from.

So often TV shows have too much action for learning from a dialogue, and the news can be too detailed or the news can portray too many bad events, that is where you can reach for AI. It can generate content at the right level on whatever you want and even add positive spin.

For language learning, AI can be a way to practice tennis by hitting the ball against the wall.

It is in no way a real match, but it is practice. And that is where I think AI is best. I would not want people expecting AI to be the one they are are talking to though. I would want them to talk to a person.
