After I built Avid Language Learning, there were Canadian wildfires and lackluster winters with little snow cover.

I am no stranger to odd weather. I remember in 2014 a polar vortex that just about froze me in my tracks.

I was coming back from a party with my friend. Our Uber dropped us off and then we learned my friend did not have his key. He could not find it.

I did not have my winter jacket on, I had some undercoat on.

It was frigid.

My friend started calling a girl he knew whose light was on in the building next door. She did not pick up.

My friend kept calling and then the cold turned his phone off.

We were both drunk. I grabbed his backpack and used it as a cover to bash through two panes of a window, I slipped in through the broken panes and let him in and he busted down my door upstairs and we were in.
